Encryption
Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS across the entire platform, including the parent and student apps, and encrypted at rest in storage. This means information cannot be read if intercepted on the network or accessed at the storage layer.
Role-based access control
Most data incidents in schools come from over-broad access rather than external attacks. AcadLynk uses five distinct roles so each person sees only what their role needs, and administrators control who holds each role.

Data isolation per school
Each school's data is isolated from every other school on the platform. For multi-branch groups, each branch's data is separated as well, while group administrators retain oversight. No school can see another school's records.
Secure authentication
Logins use secure authentication with token-based sessions. Credentials are never stored in plain text. Administrators can manage and revoke access when staff join or leave, which is an important and often overlooked part of school data security.
Hosting, backups and uptime
The platform runs on secure, containerised infrastructure with regular automated backups and a 99.9% uptime target. Backups mean a lost device or accidental deletion does not mean lost school records - a clear advantage over registers and spreadsheets stored on a single staff laptop.
Payment security
Online fee payments are handled by established third-party payment gateways. Card and net-banking credentials are processed by the gateway under its own security standards and are not stored by AcadLynk. We keep only the transaction record needed for receipts and reconciliation.
Your data stays yours
Schools own their data. You can request a full export at any time, and we process data only to deliver the service - never selling it and never using student data for advertising or profiling. This is set out in our Privacy Policy.
